Testimonies, Tips, and Tidbits–what a mouthful! What kind of book would have such a variety of topics and writing? In these pages you will find true testimonies, tips, and tidbits that I’ve experienced and/or learned from my many years of walking with the Lord. God has taught or revealed these things to me to help in life and ministry. I may compile them into a book but decided to share them freely on this blog for awhile. I hope they will encourage others as they continue on in their walk with God.
Many of the pages in this blog are a set of testimonies, tips, and tidbits from my life from my years of serving in children’s ministry. As I worked in various children’s ministries, God began showing me some of the challenges that face Christian workers. He taught me to ALWAYS expect the unexpected, to keep a close eye on all of the children (as much as I possibly could) and several other lessons. God also showed me how hard it is to find good, workable ideas, lesson plans, and materials for active Bible lessons that will capture the students’ interests.
God’s word says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV) This scripture has encouraged me throughout the years as I’ve gone through many experiences, trials, and tribulations, and I’ve learned some hard lessons.
Hopefully, sharing these experiences will help you avoid making the same mistakes, and will give you insight into some of the challenges facing Christian workers. I’ve given these challenges simple, yet relevant names so you can memorize them and watch out for them in your class. I pray these mini-testimonials will help equip God’s workers to meet future difficulties with a stronger desire to see and glorify Him!
As you read through these small stories, keep in mind that God is always faithful when we fall short. As a teacher, we do the best we can with the task he gives us, and the rest is in God’s hands. He is the one who determines the outcome of our endeavors and He will be faithful to cover us when we forget, overlook, or simply make a mistake. God is faithful to turn the bad into good and teach us from it!
It is also my hope that we will learn to use the gifts God gives us for His eternal purposes including demonstrating His power, operating in His miraculous giftings, and allowing the Holy Spirit to use us to help draw others into His kingdom.
When I share these things with you, I do it not as a person who has arrived, who has all the answers, or who has any more spirituality than anyone else. I am merely a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ who is trying to do what I believe God has asked me to do–share my experiences in hopes that they will benefit, encourage or teach you!
I hope you enjoy reading about these experiences I’ve had while endeavoring to walk with Jesus. Jesus transformed my life! He encouraged me, lifted me out of the darkest pit, and gave me a new life built upon the rock (Jesus) that is filled with joy, love, peace, and many blessings and promises from God.
As scripture says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth–praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, (…). Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which you have done (…).” (Psalm 40:1-5 NKJV)
God has truly done this in my life, and I know He can do the same for you! May God bless you as you continue your walk with Him!
